Cape Clear in West Cork
Ireland’s southernmost inhabited island, lies 8 miles off the coast of West Cork. Cape Clear is a large island with stunning walking trails that curve around the headlands and rolling hills. It is an oasis for landscape photographers, with everything from beautiful coastline and clifftop views to a crumbling castle and an old lighthouse. Cape Clear is a fantastic location to watch basking sharks and whales idle their way around the island far below the cliffs. The island also hosts a rich variety of wild flower species and is well known for its variety of bird species.
For this workshop, we will catch a ferry from Baltimore on Saturday morning to Cape Clear. We will be staying in a bed and breakfast on the island that evening. There are a number of locations we will be exploring over the weekend including the Gleann loop walking trail, the lighthouse and the clifftops. On the first evening, we will have an early group meal to allow for our evening shoot. Breakfast will be served the next morning after our sunrise and morning shoot. We will continue to explore other locations on the island before returning to Baltimore that evening on the last ferry.
